Mechanism
Progeline is a cosmetic peptide that targets progerin, the abnormal protein responsible for accelerated aging in progeria. It aims to reduce progerin buildup in normal aging skin.
Technical detail
Progeline (trifluoroacetyl tripeptide-2) is designed to inhibit progerin synthesis by modulating lamin A processing. Progerin accumulates in aging skin and contributes to nuclear envelope dysfunction and ECM degradation. In vitro studies demonstrate reduced progerin expression and improved collagen and elastin production.
