Mechanism

Ophthalamin is an eye tissue-derived cytamin containing peptide bioregulators from animal retinal and ocular tissue. It supports visual health, retinal function, and lens clarity, used in Russia for age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and visual fatigue.

Technical detail

Ophthalamin contains low-molecular-weight peptides and nucleoproteins isolated from bovine or porcine ocular tissue (retina, lens). These tissue-specific peptides are proposed to normalize retinal pigment epithelial cell function, support photoreceptor metabolism, and modulate oxidative stress in ocular tissues. It complements Visoluten (cytomax), Retinalamin (cytomax), and Normoftal (cytogen) in the Khavinson ophthalmic bioregulator product line at the cytamin tier.
