GHRP-5

Growth Hormone / Recovery

Also known as: Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 5

Growth Hormone Releasing PeptidesResearch phase: PreclinicalRegulatory: Not approved by any regulatory agency. Research peptide only.

Mechanism

GHRP-5 is a synthetic growth hormone releasing peptide in the GHRP research series. Like its counterparts, it stimulates pituitary growth hormone release. Minimal clinical development has occurred, and it is primarily referenced in early GH secretagogue research literature. GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 remain the clinically relevant members of this family.

Technical detail

GHRP-5 is a synthetic hexapeptide GHS-R agonist from the original Bowers GHRP series. Mechanism parallels other GHRPs: GHS-R1a activation on somatotrophs via PLC/IP3/Ca2+ signaling driving GH exocytosis. Minimal independent characterization in the literature. Structural modifications between GHRP-1 through GHRP-6 explored SAR for GH potency, selectivity, and side-effect profiles.
