GHRP-4

Growth Hormone / Recovery

Also known as: Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 4

Growth Hormone Releasing PeptidesResearch phase: PreclinicalRegulatory: Not approved by any regulatory agency. Research peptide only.

Mechanism

GHRP-4 is a synthetic growth hormone releasing peptide from the same research series as GHRP-1 through 6. It stimulates growth hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. It has seen minimal clinical development and is primarily a research tool with limited published data compared to GHRP-2 and GHRP-6.

Technical detail

GHRP-4 is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that binds GHS-R1a on pituitary somatotrophs. Activates PLC-PKC signaling to release GH. Part of the Bowers/Momany GHRP series but received far less characterization than GHRP-2 and GHRP-6. Limited published pharmacological data available.
