Opioid / Neuromodulation

Also known as: Metorphamide

Endogenous Opioid PeptidesResearch phase: PreclinicalRegulatory: Not approved. Endogenous peptide used in research only.

Mechanism

Adrenorphin is an opioid peptide found in the adrenal glands derived from proenkephalin. It has analgesic properties and plays a role in adrenal stress responses.

Technical detail

Adrenorphin (metorphamide) is a C-terminally amidated heptapeptide derived from proenkephalin A, primarily found in adrenal medulla. It exhibits mu- and delta-opioid receptor activity and participates in adrenal stress-mediated analgesia.
